I hate to say I used to watch this but no longer do.
I'm sorry it went off for everyone who loved it. I know how it feels. I enjoyed watching BBC's remake of Survivor. Unfortunately, they ended it without an ending. Did two seasons and never came back for the third. It seems to happen a lot with sci fi series. For some reason, execs think we won't care if there is no ending. I hope they don't kill The Walking Dead. It too is a very good series.
I'm glad Battlestar had a finish.

OK, so now I've watched the four-hour marathon I had stored on my DVR and yes--I cried when Roslyn died. And I agree that the homage to the original series when they played the music as the fleet flew into the sun was also incredible. I really expected Adama to crash the raptor and die with her. I was surprised when he was sitting by her grave and talking to her. And then, of course, the ending in Times Square kind of blew me away as well.

As for casting Katee Sackoff as Starbuck, as soon as I saw her, I realized that they HAD to change the gender. Dirk Benedict played that role so well, that I don't think audiences would have accepted anyone else. Casting a woman as Starbuck was the only way to keep people from comparing whoever took the role to Dirk.

And Richard Hatch STILL gives great hugs!

I agree that the scene with Anders was amazing..It was the farewell to the battlestar and signaled an end to a journey.

There will never be another show like BSG. I really wish it never came to an end.....

So say we all...............

Oh my, I also cried my eyes out. Especially at the scene where Anders took the remaining flight into the sun and the score was from the original series. I thought what a beautiful tribute and acknowledgment to the vision that began this epic retelling.

When it first heard they were remaking BSG, I was so excited. Then I began to have my doubts when I heard the casting decision about Starbuck! But I gave it a chance and now, I think Katee was the right choice. The updated vision speaks to everything revelant to today's society, giving us a reflection into ourselves, the best and worst.

And yes, I'm still feeling the loss, shock, and the frakking sense of awe.

So say we all.
