All Things Vampire

OK So today I’m extra thrilled because Summit Entertainment has released the first official poster for the New Moon movie. Wohooo…The poster was accidentallyleaked last night and a lot of fans saw it before it was suppose to be seen. Since the movie started it has been having a lot of leaks…First the first draft of the script was leaked and a week ago some woman found the official script in a trash can at a hotel and now the poster….Hmmm….Attempts have been made to keep the set locations and everything a secret but it is not going so well so far.

Today is the official poster release date.

I love the poster…It looks so good. Seeing gets me even more jazzed about the fact that the movie will be here in November….As you can see I now have a little ticker on the corner of my page….LOL

Yes like many I have become drawn into the whole saga and it rocks.

On other vampire news…Today is the release date for season 1 of  True Blood…Yes I have got the dvd..Found a gift card I’d forgotten about to the electronic store and it worked out in my favor… I won’t be able to sit and watch it till most likely the weekend…

I can’t wait for season 2 of True Blood to start. June 14 is when they start to air it here…So looking forward to that.

I still haven’t seen Twilight. Not sure when I will but I’ve read all the books. I’m delighted that Meyer has gotten so many young writers to try their hand at their own stories but it does make me concerned when I see stories that are cloned off her tales.

Still need to see True Blood but I hear it’s good. *sigh*

Dunno when I’ll have the time, tho’.

I am not a big fan of either Twilight or True Blood, but ironically I pulled Dracula out of the shelf for a re-read just this morning.

Savannah,

Like you, I’m a TrueBlooder, and a Twilighter, too. Can’t wait for the new season of True Blood in June. And of course, I’ll be in the movie theatre when New Moon comes out.

It’s odd, but I’ve never had a “thing” for vampires–movies or books, that is, but since True Blood and Twilight have re-defined what vampires can be, they seem to have more appeal to me.

I know what you mean..the market has become so flooded…True Blood is an original book series and it also worth the read…

I’ve read the Twilight series and saw the movie and loved it….

I think after the Twilight series finishes with movies the genre with go quiet for a bit and then after a while something else will bring attention to it…it happens every few years…

I’ve always been a huge vampire fan (I think Dracula was my first crush); through the years, I’ve read/seen some great takes on the mythos.

My all-time favorite vamp movies are the ’80s classics THE LOST BOYS and NEAR DARK, and my new absolute favorite is a Swedish film titled LET THE RIGHT ONE IN. It is creepy, provocative, and very artfully done. If you haven’t seen it, rent it or buy it ASAP; in my opinion, it is the best vampire movie ever made.

I never read the TWILIGHT books, nor watched the movie, but I just cannot get into YA writing; call me a literary snob, but I like “meaty” reads, and TWILIGHT just didn’t do it for me. I’ve heard great things about TRUE BLOOD, both the books and the series, but I don’t have cable and I haven’t had the time to pick up a new series.

As far as books go, I loved INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE, and thought DRACULA was okay … but my favorite vampire storyline, of course, is THE DARKNESS AND THE NIGHT.

I have always been a huge vampire fan as well. Anne Rice was my big intro when I was younger….I never read much YA either but I had a great time with Twilight…I am now starting the P.C Cast series….
