WATCH OUT: Casey Sheridan
I want to welcome you to another episode of Watch Out. So wh are we to look for this week? Well that would be author Casey Sheridan.
Welcome to Watch Out, Casey, it is so great to have you here.
Thank you, Savannah! I’m excited to be here. I’ve been looking forward to it.
For the readers out there who might not know about you or your work, can you please tell them a little about yourself.
I write erotica and erotic romance. So far I’ve written mostly short stories that have appeared on various sites on the internet.
I’m an alien from another planet. According to my mom, anyway. Obviously my planet is one filled with gorgeous women. HA!
Can you tell us a little about your current release?
Scarlett’s Wolf (written under my former pen name C. L. Casey) is an erotic paranormal romance. Ashling Scarlett hates werewolves and has made it her mission to stop the curse from spreading because her brother was killed by a werewolf. When she meets Blake de Marco, she has no idea that he’s a werewolf. She only sees the handsome Flamenco guitar player. But Ashling has a pretty cool secret of her own.
The publishing industry is constantly changing; do you think that eBooks will one day make paperback books nonexistent?
I don’t feel paperbacks will become nonexistent, at least not for quite sometime, although they may end up being printed in fewer numbers. There are just too many people out there that don’t like to read eBooks.
I read in your bio that you wrote your first story on a dare. Did the person that dared you ever get the chance to read what you wrote?
Unfortunately, yes. He did get to read that first story. We both agreed it sucked. I’m actually embarrassed by it. I figured out later on that he presented me with the challenge because he believed I could do it and wanted to help get me out of my writing shell. It worked!
Which do you prefer eBooks or paperback?
I like them both. I just purchased a Nook about a month or so ago and I’m really enjoying it. EBooks certainly take up a lot let space on there (lol). But I will admit, I still like the feel of a book in my hands.
What influences the topics, and genre’s that you pick to write a story in?
Anything around me can spark an idea, really. Once it germinates in my imagination, the little roots are like different story paths. I explore them and just go with whatever one seems to fit best.
One thing readers might be surprised to know about you?
I love the old Japanese Godzilla movies and I love watching Bruce Lee movies.
What is the biggest misconception you think people have about erotic authors?
Oh man, there’s so many! Let’s see….we’re easy and sleazy. We’re sex addicts. We will have sex with anyone, anytime, anywhere and in any position. As a matter of fact, because we’re erotic authors we NEED to have sex with everyone, all the time, everywhere and in every position. People think it’s okay to send us raunchy emails, even though we don’t know them, we obviously thrive on dirty talk from everyone. Our walls are lined with dildos and vibrators. Writing erotica is just writing porn.
Crazy stuff and sometimes disturbing. Just so everyone knows, there is only one man that I have sex with, that I talk dirty to and that I allow to talk dirty to me. That would be the man I love. No one else. I don’t write porn. I am not a sex addict. I WISH my walls were lined with dildos and vibrators……..just kidding! LOL!
Your favourite part about being an author?
Gosh, almost everything. I like meeting my characters for the first time and then getting to know them. I like seeing the world they live in and being able to take part in it. I like sitting down at my laptop and bringing it all together.
What are you currently reading?
Sheet Music by Tibby Armstrong
Currently listening to?
I think the last song I heard on my mp3 player was Never Enough by Five Finger Death Punch.
Is there anything you’re currently working on that you can give us a taste of?
I’m writing a sexy superhero series for my blog called, Sirus Bandai: The Invisible Bandit. I’m having lots of fun with it. I’m trying to post a new episode each week, so feel free to stop by, read and leave comments. I love comments.
What is the best advice you ever got with regards to writing?
Just do it!
Any advice for new writers out there?
Read and write as much as you can, whenever you can. Never give up. Not for anything.
