When Midnight Calls- Fear
He’d become content with this life. Faced it and accepted it for all this time. What else could he do? There was no running away. It made him stronger and never had he looked back at his old life.
Till now.
She made him look back. Yearn for the pure warm human blood, and not to feed on. To fill his cold veins with life, and mortality. She made him fear another century of this desolate life. Deep down no matter how much he hated to admit it, he wanted to once again feel the beating of his heart as his body pulsed with life. He dared not admit to anyone, not even his brothers; he actually wanted to turn his back on this life.
Vanus wanted to feel love again, to feel truly alive and not to just exist.
Time had passed him by slowly. An eternity of loss had consumed him. Ripped away any lingering humanity he’d secretly held onto.
Now she reminded him of all the things he’d forgotten about, and lost.
Closing his eyes for a brief moment he inhaled her scent, let it capture his senses. Nothing else existed around him except this beautiful golden haired goddess who’d captured his attention. The one who brought him back here night after night.
The sudden memory of the first time he’d ever seen her flashed in front of his eyes. Her breathtaking beauty was so fragile, so filled with innocents. Not a clue to the dangers that lurked in her world. He remembered the day as if it were just yesterday.

I can really feel Vanus’ yearning and the awful stretch of cold existence. Great piece!

Nice! You’ve captured his mood perfectly. The audio book I’m listening to at present is all about midnight.

Once again you’ve outdone yourself. So glad I stopped by – and thanks for your prayers. We’re sort of in a holding pattern for now.
