Another Adventure with Backstreet Boys

With my huge love for music it is no shocker that I hit the concert scene when I have the opportunity. I got to go see the Backstreet Boys on November 9, 2008 when they came into town. I have lost count the times I have seen them over the years. I know its a ton. This time the experience was a lot more special since I had VIP passes to go and see the guys before the show.

When I got to the venue there were already girls waiting in line and ready for the show and or VIP. The guys had not arrived to the venue yet. Maybe a half hour after their buses pulled into the venue and went under ground. You can bet that the girls ran out into the cold and screamed like crazy for their arrival.

It took a while before they started to let people in who had VIP, but after names were checked we got a wrist band that gave us access. I was excited to have the chance to do the VIP since it gives you more access to the group.

For VIP you got to watch the sound check and since there were not too many people there it was even better.

When the guys came out for sound check I think the teenager inside me came out. I was pretty excited to be there. Seeing the guys up close and with not a million screaming fans made it fantastic.

This is a video of the guys singing You Can Let Go during the sound check.

During the whole thing they joked around with the fans and fans were able to request songs they wanted the guys to sing. It was interesting to watch them interact with their fans in a more intimate environment.

At one point a few of the fans requested the guys to sing one of their old songs called Who Do You Love. They were cracking up because they had not sang the song in a very long time and could not remember the words. Brian was singing a bit and adding his own lyrics to the song…

After a few more songs the guys sat down with us for a question session. Fans were able to ask a question to each of the guys.

Brian’s son came out to join the guys and asked Howie when he was going to have some kids. Everybody was cracking up so hard. Howie tried to avoid the question but AJ made him answer.

After the question session was over everyone had the chance to get something signed by the guys. Since I have their autograph I didn’t really bring anything except my Unbreakable CD.

Most of you don’t know this but my next release that is featured in the One Touch One Glance A Sweet Romance Anthology called He’s On The Menu, the hero was inspired by AJ McLean.

When my turn came I got to take a picture with the guys and talk to them. I mentioned that I was a writer and they asked me what I wrote. When I told them erotica the look on their face was priceless. They wanted to know more..I had told AJ that he inspired my character Ian Knight for the book and he was thrilled…

I wish I had more time to talk to them but the time was running out and they venue had to start opening the doors to let everyone in.

Once everyone left the guys we had to go and get our tickets scanned so that they could let us go to our seats. I was lucky once again to have floor seats.

This time around the opening act was an artist by the name of Divine Brown. Her set was about thirty minutes long.

Once it was time for the concert to start Brian’s son Baylee came out on stage once more to introduce the guys. He’s pretty much grown up on the road and he is such a ham. He makes jokes and funny faces just like his father.

I was armed with my glow sticks and ready to have a blast. You know you can’t do concerts without them.

The show opened with a bang. The guys are introduced as boxers and come up onto a boxing ring. Then the song Larger Then Life starts.

The whole concert was a ton of fun. I am  never disappointed when I go to one of their shows. It brings back all the memories from my teenage years. You can bet that this was not my last show. There will be more adventures to come.

One of my favorite songs during the show is when AJ does his solo number, it’s a song from his upcoming solo CD. The song is called Drive By Love.

The guys sang some classics and a ton of songs from the Unbreakable CD. As always the show goes by way to fast and the energy is still going.

They finished off with the song Shape of My Heart and the confetti exploded to rain down on the crowd.

If you ever have the chance to go to one of their shows I recommend that you do. You will not be disappointed. I wanted to go to the show with a friend of mine but she was not able to attend so while I was there at the Sound check and the concert I called her to let her listen in live. I wanted to bring the sound check and the concert to her if she couldn’t be there in person.

If you guys want to see more from the concert I have posted a ton of clips from the show.
