First of all, a huge thank you to Savannah for inviting me today to talk about a very special series. As an author, I’m known for my series. Most recently, it’s my contemporary cowboy series out with Samhain Publishing that gets most of my promotional time. (FYI the next book, Bucked, releases February 16.) Prior to my cowboy obsession, it was my military romance series that occupied all of my marketing hours. But today is about a different series—All Romance eBooks’ 28 Days of Heart Series to benefit the American Heart Association to help raise money and awareness to fight the number one killer of women, heart disease. The 28 novellas, releasing one each day for the 28 days of February, span all genres but they have one thing in common—they were all donated by the authors and the proceeds go to the AHA.

It’s been a wonderful experience to be involved with this project. I gladly embarked on this blog tour to shout about the 28 Days campaign because it is such a worthy cause. And of course, I’ll do a bit of shouting about my own story in the series, Private Lies. It too is a nice change from my norm. No bull riding scenes like in my cowboy stories. No battle scenes like in my military books. There is one hot as hell hero and a heroine who can’t help but make you laugh, and it’s set in a country club that looks suspiciously like the one I worked at during college but I’ll never admit if any of the scenes in it are based on my time there. You’ll just have to wonder!

That didn’t surprise Jacqueline Monroe Scarpelli one bit. Her husband Gio was a passionate man. Sultry, foreign, vibrant, and the most brilliant painter she’d ever seen. His artist’s temperament made him ardent and sensitive, but also sometimes moody and reclusive. Though he’d never stay that way long and would make it up to her in the most incredible and inventive, toe-curling ways.

Jax closed her eyes to fully absorb each and every vocal nuance, recognizing as the volume rose, the resonance that signaled Gio’s impending orgasm.

She should be familiar with the growing crescendo. Jax pulled her hand back from the knob. Hearing her husband’s affair was bad enough; there was no way she wanted to see it too. Considering what to do next, Jax ran all ten manicured fingers through her straight, perfectly cut and highlighted blond hair and tried to think. Tiptoeing her designer, kitten-heeled, alligator slides away from the door,

Jax pulled her cell phone out of this season’s hottest new bag and reluctantly dialed the number of the one man who could help her.

When he answered, she whispered, “Daddy? I need your help.”
