I’m over at Seven Sinful Scribes and this time the price of books is on my mind. Stop on over and give me your opinion. What is too much and what is not enough? Is there a limit you have before you say no way that is too much?

For me, what I’m willing to pay depends on the length of the book (I can guess at Amazon), the subject and if I’m familiar with the author. Even with an author I love, I don’t usually pay more than $6.99 for a novel length story – and even then, it’s at my favorite online store so I can get credit towards a free book.
On the flip side of that, I’ve had readers complain that a story is too expensive for the length, when I thought I’d priced it as cheap as I was willing to go. There’s a fine line between getting a bargain every once in a while and expecting every story to be dirt cheap. A lot of us can’t afford to keep our books that cheap all the time and I wish more people were sympathetic to that.
